Restore Or Recover Instagram Deleted Messages
Nowadays we all know about the Instagram app as it is a very popular social media platform where you can share your photos, videos, stories and scroll the feeds as well. Millions of people are using this worldwide to connect with their friends, relatives, colleagues and to make new friends as well. It always adds new things, updates the algorithms, and new features for their user to have a better experience.
As we all know Instagram added the direct message feature in 2013 that allows the user to send direct messages, photos, videos to their friends and the other user.
Instagram is giving this feature that you can recover your data but what if you deleted your data accidentally and then you need that so how you will recover that now you are thinking that it is very changing to recover that data right. So relax I will tell you how you can restore your Instagram data because it remains on an Insta server so let’s see.
Restore instagram data
Firstly you need to do this on your Instagram web page because it is not available in your Instagram app
Step 1: Open your browser and go to https://www.instagram.com/ and log in to your account.
Step 2: In the top right corner there’s a “profile” button click on that.
Step 3: Now click on the “Ëdit profile” button.
Step 4: Now you will see the pop-up menu on the left corner, select the “Privacy and Security” option.
Step 5: Now scroll the option you will find “Data Download” then click on that you will see the header called “Request Download” just tap that.
Step 6: Now verify your Instagram account by login in again and entering your credentials.
Step 7: then you will have to enter your email address so that Insta will send you a link that will take you to the data files that you have requested to recover.
Step 8: Now click on “Next”.
Step 9: Here you will enter your Insta password again before clicking on the “Request Download” then Instagram will send you data in your email.
Step 10: Now you will have to check your email and a message you have got from Instagram has the subject “Your Instagram Data” open that message and click on the button “Download Data”. Your data will download in the form of a zip file.
Step 11: Now unzip your zip folder and open that. Locate your file name with “messages.json” and open it with a text editor.
Now you are able to see all the messages you have sent on your Instagram.
Note: there are a few things you need to know while processing these steps after doing step 9 Instagram can take up to 48 hours to send you an email that contains your data so don’t be panic if you don’t receive an email before 48 hours. Secondly, when Instagram sends you a link to download your zip file it will work up to 4 days after 4 days the link will not work you will have to repeat the above steps again.
